When I first decided to start arranging for show choirs, one of my frustrations was that I didn’t know many of the people already working in the field. Arrangers generally like to avoid the spotlight and the nature of the activity means that they spend more time in front of a computer and less time in rehearsal than the choreographers and other staff members. In addition, the names of arrangers are not typically announced at show choir competitions or included in group biographies (something that still needs to change). So for most of those first couple of years it felt like I was flying blind.
This post is my attempt to change that. I am currently in the process of interviewing *every* arranger in Show Choir Land. I’m asking them the same six questions and adding their responses (as well as examples of their work) to this blog post.
**If your favorite arranger does not appear on this list it means that I don’t know that they arrange, they haven’t responded to my message yet, or I do not have their contact info. PLEASE CONNECT US!**
